The New Life in Christ | This workshop introduces clients to the terminology and principles associated with accepting Christ and living the Christian life. | Required |
Developing A Meaningful Quiet Time | This workshop is designed to give client a basic overview of the Bible. It teaches several of Rick Warren's Bible study methods. It teaches the importance and mechanics of prayer. A section on the importance and mechanics of worship is also included. | Required |
Recovery 101: Healing the Scars of Abuse | This workshop is designed to help victims of abuse to see how their abuse has effected their lives. The emphasis is upon taking the victim from being a casulty to a thriver by learning and applying biblical principles in their lives. | Required |
Victory on the Battlefield of the Mind | This workshop is based upon the book: The Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyers. It is aimed at helping participants recognize destructive thought patterns and teaching them how to correct them. | Required |
Overcoming Codependency | This workshop idenifies ways in which abuse victims have become trapped in codepend behavior. It is focused on changing this destructive behavior and allowing both the victim and their perpetrator to accept responsiblity and accountability for their own lives. | Required |
Trusting the Lord to Help You Change | This workshop is based on Kay Arthur's book: Lord, Only You Can Change Me. it is an indepth study of Christ's Sermon On the Mount and how applying its principles can help you become a person of character. | Required |
Developing Healthy Boundaries | This workshop is based on the book Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. It teaches when it is appropriate to set boundaries, how to set them, and how to enforce them. It is aimed at teaching participants how to take control of their own lives. | Required |
Choosing to Forgive | This workshop deals with the difficult subject of when forgiveness is necessary, and why it is necessary. Most importantly, it teaches what Christ taught on forgiveness. It deals with the difficult subjects of responsiblity and accountability. There is a session on when and how to confront. It's main focus is on how forgiveness keeps the past from dictating the future. | Required |
Value Based Living: The Basis for Success | This workshop answers the question: Should a Christian seek success and if so, how should they go about it. It teaches how to live a life based on core values such as integrity, faith, honesty, excellence, service, and many more. It teaches how to set and acheive goals It stresses financial stewardship and stewardship of all the blessings God has bestowed upon us. | Required |
Understanding and Managing Stress | This workshop takes a look at what the Bible has to say about stress. it teaches how to recognize stressors and how to manage them in a healthy, godly, manner. | Required |
Dealing With Negative Emotions In A Healthy Way | This workshops takes a look at the role of emotions in our lives. It specificly teaches how to handle the negative emotions such as anger, discouragement, despair, worry, and loniless. | Required |
Gaining Confidence God's Way | This workshop is based on Joyce Meyer's book How to Succeed At Being Yourself. It teaches how to: accept yourself even with your weaknesses; rise above insecurities; gain the freedom to freely develop gifts and talents; leave the past behind you; and rid yourself of the things that hinder your happiness. | Required |
Parenting With Reality Discipline | This workshop is based upon Dr. Kevin Leman's book: Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours. It equips parents with seven principles of reality based discipline that will help you how to put yourself back in the driver's seat and have kids that do what they need to do while learning personal accountability that will serve them well in adulthood. | Elective offered as needed |
Finding God In Life's Difficult Situations | This workshop is designed to answer the question why? It is aimed at teaching participants how to find God's hand on them no matter what is happening around them. The emphasis is on believing the promises of God. | Elective offered every two years |
Managing Life With A Major Mental Illness | This workshop is mainly geared towards people with a major mental illness such as bi-polar disorder. It can be of use to family and friends. It will teach principles that will aid in recovery, such as: emergency planning, accountability for taking medications correctly, tracking and reporting symptoms, the importance of keeping to a schedule, and the importance of proper diet, exercise and sleep. | Elective offered as needed |
Developing Sexual Integrity | This is actually two workshops; one for men and one for women. The man's workshop deals with pronography addiction and how to remain sexually pure in today's sexually driven society. The women's workshop is designed to teach them how to protect themselves in every aspect of their lives. it guides the women in the development of an affair with the one and only Lover who can truely satisfy their innermost desires: which of course, is Jesus Christ. | Elective offered as needed |
Living the Uncluttered and Organized Life | The workshop is geared at keeping our homes running smoothly so that we will be able to more fully enjoy our relationships with our families. It covers time management, housework, budgeting, keeping paperwork caught up and organized and even teaches how to organize the children. | Elective offered as needed |
Life Skills for 21st Century Adults | This course teaches the basics of math and English. It covers basic communication skills, shopping skills, cooking and cleaning skills, budgeting, time management, and gaining good employment skills. | Elective offered as needed |
Reaching Your Full Potential for God | This workshop is based on a book by the same name authored by Charles Stanley, centered around seven essentials: A clean heart; A clear mind; Using the gifts God has given you; Having a healthy body; Cultivating good relationships; Keeping a balanced schedule; and Taking the proper God-approved risks. | Elective offered as needed |
Dating: A Christian Perspective | This workshop is for the single adults of all ages. It covers preparing yourself to date, dating behavior, what to look for in a dating relationship, how to spot the bad for you types, sexual purity, where to look for dates. | Elective offered as needed |
Strengthening the Marriage Relationship | This workshop is for the couple who needs to tune-up their marriage. It covers such topics as the roles of each partner in a marriage; making sure Christ is at the center of the marriage, communication skills, domestic violence, forgiveness, children problems, and much more. | Elective offered as needed |
Asserrtiveness Training for Christians | This workshop teaches how to be assertive without becoming obnoxious. It teaches how to negotiate requests, express and receive compliments and many other topics; all from a biblical perspective. it is based on the book: Speaking the Truth in Love by Ruth N. Etiquette in Everyday Life | Etiquette is not antiquated. It is a much needed art in today's world. Many companies are bringing in people to teach it. The participant will learn how to communicate with today's technology. They will also learn how to conduct themselves during a job interview. The workshop covers dressing for success, how to eat at a fancy resturant, and what to wear when. The final exam is a trip to a local resturant such as Elements, or CopperMill. Advocacy and Citizenship Training | This is usually taught as a one day workshop. It covers such subjects as how the legeslative process, how to communicate with your senator or representative, and what you are and are not entitled to under the constitution. | Elective offered once a year, usually around the 4th of July |
Anger Management for Christians | This course deals with specific methods of handling anger in a godly manner. Although it is geared to the person with a major anger control problem, anyone could profit from enrolling in this workshop. | Elective offered as needed |
Biblical Perspective on Healthy Living | This workshop is designed for the person who has been living an unhealthy lifestyle, they may be overweight and out of shape. They will be taught what the Bible teaches that a person must do to stay healthy. | Elective offered as needed |
Learning People Skills | This workshop is for the person who does not know how to communicate effectively. This person will be the one who has trouble making friends, keeping a job, keeping peace in the home, and may have anger issues as well. The main focus will be conflict resolution and the ability to create win/win solutions. It will dicuss verbal abuse and how to changeif you are an abuseer. | Elective offered as needed |

The workshops that are marked: elective offered as needed are all workshops that can be turned into life coaching assignments and can be covered in life coaching sessions. Those marked required must be taken if you plan to graduate from the Healing Rain Ministries' Program. The cost of each workshop is $35.00, unless taken in a life coaching situation.
